Even if it doesn’t feel like a ton has changed dramatically after I’ve gone through a pair of eclipses, I have found there can still sometimes be the sensation of having stepped through a wormhole, time warp, or alternate reality. (Of course, having just spent two weeks exploring another country, I am noticing this keenly right now.) So I decided to offer these horoscopes as (hopefully) a kind of introspective rear-view mirror: what you see in them may actually be closer than it appears, and almost certainly could be useful to give some attention to, especially if you’re still making sense of the last couple weeks.

I’d written the notes for these prior to the first eclipse we just experiences (on Sept. 17), but was not able to get them into shape for the Oct. 2 Libra New Moon and annular solar eclipse while traveling. (I am sure you’re just shocked by that…) So what I’ve written also speaks to some of this week’s current astro-energy, and the flow from the New Moon into now, and then into the future.
I also want to acknowledge that there is tremendous suffering and uncertainty in the world right now, between hurricanes, war, genocide, a fraught US political stage, and more. I don’t know how to write horoscopes that can fully or genuinely speak to that level of collective pain and fear.
Yet Libra — which the Sun is currently in the middle of — is the sign of relationships, justice, and balance, with all the duality and shadow those themes also contain. And the first relationship we each have is to ourselves.
So I offer these horoscopes with the intention that as we each tend to our inner relationship to ourselves, our relationships with others will benefit; and, ideally, the ensuing healing and growth will ripple out further and further into the world — not only energetically, but through direct actions in right relationship to the highest good for all beings.
As always, I invite you to read for your rising sign as well as “your sign,” and to message me if you’re not sure what that is. And please feel free to share these with others who might appreciate them!
With love,
Amanda
Horoscopes for Emerging from the Libra New Moon and Annular Solar Eclipse
ARIES — Last week’s eclipse highlighted your one-to-one interactions, and setting intentions for how they can look going forward. Who’s really been showing up in the past couple weeks, and how have they been communicating? Don’t confuse someone’s seeming indecision with “not caring” or having no opinion. Something intense has been brewing under their surface. If you’ve been giving them the space and flexibility they seem to need, whatever this person is working on could emerge like the gas from an acetylene torch: as it meets your fire, you both have the opportunity to focus the flame into a beautiful tool of connection.
TAURUS — Whether you’re a complete introvert or the most extraverted person you know, this eclipse emphasized how much the people in your day-to-day experience are key to your wellbeing. Its core message: get real when you relate to them. When you do, what’s revealed my feel emotional and messy sometimes. Good. It’s what needs to be aired out or opened up for true balance to be found. Better yet: the further away from your “usual” you were able to go last week, the more likely it is that you’ve been feeling fed in ways both tangible and spiritual. How can you carry that with you and share it as you move forward?
GEMINI — How have the events of the past two to three weeks shaped your ideas about the kinds of pleasure you can invite into your life? Has anything shifted in how you express yourself verbally, emotionally, or creatively — or in your desire to do so? Chances are you’ve discovered that you’re safer in these areas than you previously thought. Rebalance those scales with conscious intention and full awareness of how these choices can nourish all involved. It’s a little like putting on your oxygen mask on an airplane before assisting someone else with theirs, although there may not be significant turbulence. Either way, you’re likely breathing much easier now.
CANCER — Now that you’ve had some time to process the feelings, intuitive hints, events, and people of the last two or three weeks, it’s time to rebalance yourself. You tend to prefer doing this at home, or in a “homey,” familiar space; it could also mean a specific relationship where you feel safe. The balancing point of a scale is similar to the peak of a tide. It’s a brief, narrow moment of stillness from which the next direction feels obvious and easy. Clock it the instant you feel it — now, in the future, or anytime you’ve sensed it in the recent past. Use it as a touchstone to help you keep doubts and distractions at bay should you get swept up in any emotional currents not of your own making.
LEO — Whatever you’ve been sorting through these last two or three weeks is ripe to be communicated — directly, fairly, and kindly. There’s a balance to be struck between being forthright and being diplomatic. Keep that intention, add some compassionate listening skills, and the pattern you set will be more likely to nourish all your working relationships — and vice versa. Are you identifying closely with some matter of social justice in your neighborhood (however you define either term)? Your regal roar will carry more weight — and better serve the greater good — the more you keep your focus on those around you once you’ve said your piece.
VIRGO — You’re ready to move what you’ve learned these last two to three weeks into action mode. Although you’ve long been in the habit of living your values, you appear primed and determined to do so either with wild abandon or the strictest discipline. Can you find the sweet spot between the two extremes? It doesn’t have to be perfect. Even just a slightly smaller pendulum swing will keep you abundantly nourished, and ensure you’re serving with clearer purpose. When it comes to speaking your mind, especially publicly or in a professional capacity, you have the wind at your back right now. Use it well, and own every word you say.
LIBRA — Likely you’ve been realigning your deeper intentions with your words and actions these last few weeks. Even so, you seem to have encountered a crossroads recently. On one side: the ways you’ve “always” felt nurtured and secure. On the other side: new ideas about how fully you can show up in the world. Here’s a hint: leaning into the less certain option actually has the greater potential to keep you feeling balanced. Perhaps you’ve already figured this out? In that case, consider reaching even further: how far can you travel (intellectually, spiritually, or literally) while staying true to yourself? Here’s another hint: that plumb-line shifts (or becomes more clear) with each growth phase.
SCORPIO — Whew! It appears that recently you’ve been enjoying (put that word in quotation marks if you need to) some significant social engagement and public processing. But these last couple weeks you’ve had an opportunity to turn inward again. The Oct. 2 solar eclipse was in the hardest-to-see part of your chart. Yet it set off an unequivocal chance to bring yourself into better equilibrium. Specifically, you’ve likely encountered something that’s been unconsciously undermining how you relate to others. Choosing meditation or another introspective activity to sort things out can be nourishing. So can saying what needs to be said once you’ve found some clarity.
SAGITTARIUS — You’re no stranger to networking, and your social skills are well known among your friends (even if you have some energetic introvert tendencies). Yet whatever has taken place for you over the last two to three weeks is looking for some intentional expression beyond just simple schmoozing. No matter how big the group, gathering, or community you’re part of, relationships always get built one on one. With each conversation you have, keep swinging your focus back to how you and the other person can complement each other’s gifts and goals. Then get to it. If the balance of give and take shifts every so often, that’s actually a good sign.
CAPRICORN — You appear to be completing a professional cycle of some kind, and are poised to initiate a new phase. To get the balance right, remember that making your way in the world means relating to everyone you encounter directly, fairly, and with some measure of social grace. Notice how events of the past two to three weeks are influencing who you’re sharing your ideas with now. Also notice the spaces or circumstances in which this is happening. If something about your day-to-day tasks (or the effects they’re having on your health) seems to be getting in the way of bigger goals, it’s likely for an important reason. Give it the attention it needs to clear the way forward.
AQUARIUS — Have you ever watched a hummingbird? It can hover in mid-air, but only for so long. To sustain such intense wing action, it must be decisive in its choices for sustenance so as not to waste too much energy, because its metabolism rate is so high. On top of that, over the course of a year these tiny creatures migrate vast distances in this pursuit. With the recent solar eclipse in your fellow air sign Libra, this looks like an apt metaphor for the intentions you set for your spiritual growth and expanding experience these next months. Watch for moments when you’re hovering in indecision about “your path” or “what’s nourishing.” Creativity and playfulness are always sure bets.
PISCES — Who are you most deeply intertwined with? This might be sexually, emotionally, financially, or in some other way that brings up strong responses. Over the course of the last few weeks — and especially with the Oct. 2 eclipse — you may have felt this situation is ready for a re-set. The mission, should you choose to accept it (if you have not already completed it), is to be as intentional, communicative, fair, and cooperative as possible in the process. The safer you feel, the more direct you’ll be. This paves the way for a satisfying result. If something about your literal home or sense of being “at home” needs attention, identify and articulate that first for maximum ease with the rest.
