We have a Full Moon today, exact at 4:28 pm EDT, and it looks like a surprising one. Maybe, for you, the “surprise” will be that today passes by without much difficulty — just some creative rearrangement of expectations and routines that you take in stride or that feel invigorating. But I also see the potential to feel like you’ve just been zapped — like the first time you touched an electric fence as a kid.
Here’s the deal: when the Taurus Moon moves into its position opposite the Scorpio Sun today, it will be closely conjoin the planet Uranus. Uranus is the “cosmic light socket” of the solar system: The Great Awakener, the disruptor, the revolutionary. It’s been moving through Taurus since 2018-2019.
Along the way it has been manifesting through the up-ending of habits, values, the physical body and the Earth itself, financial systems, and what we think of as tangibly “ours.”
The Moon entered Taurus during the wee hours of yesterday morning. Already I’ve witnessed a couple of postcard-perfect examples of how this Full Moon plus Uranus is showing up for people.
For example:
One friend posted yesterday about a series of disruptive events he’d just experienced. This included getting barked at in ALL CAPS in an online forum, in response to a benign comment (Full Moons often show themselves through interpersonal tension). Then he needed to suddenly pivot in casting an important video project due to availability issues, presumably against his artistic values, because there was sponsorship money tied to a tight deadline.
This morning, I woke to find my beloved partner still at home, typing away — past the time he usually is on his way out the door — because he was so incensed at the appointment of RFK as incoming Health and Human Services secretary. My partner is utterly devoted to helping people be healthy — it’s not just his job, it’s his mission in life. For him to run late because he’s so upset speaks to what a lightning bolt this news is to his values.
Clearly you may want to keep your antennae tuned for disruptions and curveballs from others. But it’s also wise to stay tuned to your own inner restlessness and impulsive urges.
What do you really want?
Make these desires and needs conscious to work with them most constructively. They may manifest as seemingly generalized restlessness and impatience with routine, but might actually speak to a deeper inner call for growth than just, “I need some variety today.”
Track down the source of sudden mood changes. Notice if your intuition starts pinging you.
If you do experience a shock to your values and your sense of security in them (or a shock to your body, your senses, or your money), ask yourself:
What is this showing me about what I thought was solidly “mine,” and how can I adapt to this change?
How does this illuminate an attachment that might have actually held me back from growing?
Consider also whether you or a person you’re encountering is experiencing a sense of being dismissed, demeaned, or left out in some way. Or whether you’re receiving a reminder, however uncomfortable or inconvenient, to be more committed — maybe even strategic — in recalibrating to your spiritual “True North.” In the Full Moon chart, Eris in Aries and Pallas (near the Galactic Core) in Sagittarius represent potential “irritants” of this sort that ask for your adjustment.
But take heart: there is also support!
Neptune in Pisces is making favorable aspects to the Sun and Moon. This describes the ability to imagine a better, more creative response to any disruption you’re encountering.
Neptune could also describe dramatizing your situation, and literal dramatization: writing a play or painting, for example, could be a super useful discharge of all this energy. Neptune also suggests the kind of sensitivity to others’ energies and needs that engenders sincere willingness to help them. And this planet could absolutely use more of that.
Pluto and Ceres in Capricorn are also in harmony with the Taurus Full Moon and Scorpio Sun. Pluto represents the ability to dig deeper and repair, evolve, or build from a more solid foundation in response to whatever’s unexpectedly in the spotlight for you today. You can effectively use any power you have to improve a disordered situation. Aligning your personal intentions with the collective good is ideal.
Ceres here offers support for getting reorganized in the face of unexpected disruptions, and this being a form of spiritual nourishment. You can take a methodical approach even if you’re doing something different or have gotten disoriented.
Think of it like improvising when you’re halfway through making a recipe and discover your dinner guest is allergic to a main ingredient you were planning to use. By staying flexible with what you put in but still following the process, both of you can eat well and be healthy.
I realize that encountering a Full Moon with the electricity of Uranus running through it might feel like a lot so close on the heels of last week’s election bombshell. But our batteries are rechargeable.
Find the right adaptor that will let you handle the wattage while staying clear-headed and connected. Identify your creative outlets. Let yourself be a power source for something new and beautiful.
With love,
Amanda
