Can you feel a subtle-yet-important reminder beginning to seep through to your consciousness? The Cancer New Moon, exact Tuesday morning (July 14) at 5:43 am EDT, will be in close contact with retrograde Mercury in Cancer — and the Moon will be floating through its precise conjunction to Mercury in the wee hours before then.
If you know your birth chart, you’ll want to stay tuned in to the part of your chart where Cancer is, and the part of your life it represents, to make out the message.

If you don’t know where Cancer is in your chart, try mulling the following themes and see if anything resonates or tugs gently at your intuition:
- the domestic, familial, or foundational
- emotions, feelings, and intuition
- things that are cyclical, or that seem to alternate between ebb and flood
- anything maternal or nurturing
- anything watery or oceanic
- the subconscious
- sensitivity, security
What are you being asked to retrieve and remember more consciously? What foundations are you being asked to investigate and fortify or rebuild?
How can you re-frame or re-articulate what you’re becoming aware of so you can plant new seeds with it — even if you aren’t able to truly tend and grow those seeds the way you would like until after July 23?
Ebb tides (the outgoing or falling tide) have a way of depositing “treasures” on the beach: cool shells, wildly shaped driftwood, items lost by others, corked bottles stuffed with messages.
This New Moon is the turning point of this month’s lunar ebb tide, and it’s potentially offering up treasures on the beach of consciousness before the tide begins rising again.
Think of retrograde Mercury as a message in a bottle. The first step to reading the message is simply to slow your pace and focus your attention enough to be able to notice it there among all the seaweed and flotsam (i.e., mental distractions and emotional static). Pause and grasp the bottle. Be willing to uncork it, read the piece of paper, and go from there.
With love,
Amanda
